Jake Hager’s Bellator Return Date Revealed

Jake Hager

AEW star Jake Hager will return to Bellator in just over a week, as confirmed via USA Today’s MMA Junkie platform.

Hager, who currently boasts an undefeated record, will compete at Bellator 250 against another undefeated heavyweight Brandon Calton on Thursday, October 29th. The event takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Jake Hager’s fight will be part of the preliminary card. The former WWE Champion last competed in MMA in September 2019 in a no contest with Anthony Garrett. Hager had kneed his opponent in the groin twice, with the second meaning Garrett could no longer continue. Referee Dan Miragliotta deemed the move to be unintentional, ending the fight as a no contest.

Meanwhile, the following month, Jake Hager would appear in AEW – aligning himself with Chris Jericho, Santana and Ortiz, and Sammy Guevara. The group would later reveal that they were called The Inner Circle. While making his presence felt regularly, Hager wouldn’t actually make his debut match for AEW until February 29, 2020 at Revolution, where he defeated Dustin Rhodes.

Hager suffered his first loss in AEW on the April 15th episode of Dynamite this year, competing against Jon Moxley in an Empty Arena No Holds Barred Match for the AEW World Championship.
