NXT Superstar Jake Atlas has commented on his monumental win against LA Knight on NXT that happened to take place on the first day of Pride month.
Atlas squared off again with Knight nearly a month on from their first one-on-one meeting in NXT where Knight defeated Atlas in just over three minutes. This time Jake Atlas claimed the victory after dropping Knight with his incredible LGBTQ DDT.
Atlas is currently the only openly gay male star on WWE’s extensive talent roster. He took to social media after his victory to mention how important the win happening on the first day of Pride month is for him.
Jake Atlas tweeted:
“Please understand how huge this is for me & everyone in the community beside me.”

Atlas made his NXT debut in January 2020, three months after he initially signed a wrestling deal with the company. Interestingly, Atlas’ association with WWE goes back to 2008 when he was signed as an Ambassador for WWE as well as receiving $25,000 for a downpayment on a house after his appearance on Celebrity Undercover Boss when the boss in question was WWE’s Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon.
Since debuting in WWE, Jake Atlas has competed on both NXT and 205 Live. He took part in the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic teaming with Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott. Atlas and Scott lost in the first round of the competition to the eventual winners and current NXT Tag Team Champions MSK.
Prior to joining WWE Atlas had a successful career on the independent scene in the US sharing the ring with current AEW stars John Silver, Jungle Boy, and Lance Archer. As well as falling to defeat to current NXT Champion Karrion Kross when he was still known as Killer.
