Jake Atlas Reportedly “Blew Out His Knee” In AEW TV Debut

Jake Atlas

Recent AEW signing Jake Atlas has reportedly suffered a knee injury during their TV debut for the company after competing in the ring on Wednesday night.

After making his debut on a recent episode of AEW Dark, it was confirmed that former NXT Superstar Jake Atlas is All Elite. His debut saw Atlas defeat Serpentico in under three minutes before being greeted by Tony Khan as he made his way back up the ramp.

On social media, Khan congratulated Atlas on winning his try-out match, adding that he was looking forward to seeing him at Dynamite.

Prior to that match on AEW Dark, Atlas had been out of action since appearing at Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonour show back in September. After being defeated by Taylor Rust, Atlas said he was stepping away from the ring, with many suspecting that he was retiring for good.

Those thoughts were premature however as Jake Atlas took to the ring against Adam Cole in a match that will air on AEW Rampage on Friday, the 7th of January.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reported that during the bout Atlas suffered a knee injury – the severity of which remains unknown:

“Jake Atlas blew out his knee and was on crutches after the show. No word on the severity of the injury yet but he will be getting checked out ASAP.”

The knee injury to Jake Atlas was not the only injury concern coming out of AEW’s debut show on TBS. Rey Fenix suffered a horrific-looking injury during the Lucha Brothers AEW Tag Team Title defence against Jurassic Express.
