Jade Cargill To Join WWE Within Days

AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill is WWE-bound.

On September 13th it was reported that Jade Cargill’s AEW contract was expiring soon and she had decided to join WWE. The star only returned to AEW television in recent weeks, confronting Kris Statlander on Collision.

However, the reunion appears to be brief.

Cargill had taken a break after being defeated by Statlander at Double or Nothing, losing the TBS Title in the process. Once back on screens, Cargill got her rematch but was defeated by Statlander on Rampage in what was seen as something of a farewell.

In a new update from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, it’s been revealed that it’s believed that the star’s AEW contract has now expired. Furthermore, the expectation is that she’ll join WWE and head to the Performance Center in Orlando next week.

Is Jade Cargill Going To NXT?

If Cargill is heading to WWE, the question becomes, what’s next? Due to her inexperience, some believe she could benefit from a stint in NXT before moving to Raw or SmackDown. However, that might not be the case.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that those in WWE feel the star will debut on the main roster.

“Those in WWE believed she was coming and that it would be on the main roster rather than developmental, but I could see that going either way. Another person in WWE described it to us as that her name was being talked about a lot, but the deal was not completed at press time.

The money it would take to get her would have been far more than they pay those in developmental, but while she has a star look and is a great athlete, her skill set and experience level is not at WWE main roster woman levels. But good workers are there to make the less experienced and more marketable workers look better than they are.

One person in WWE described this as coming out of the blue, but that they do expect her to be coming in.”

There has been no official comment from WWE or AEW regarding Cargill’s status.
