Jade Cargill won’t be competing in the WWE Women’s US Championship tournament.
The new WWE women’s mid-card championship was unveiled by Nick Aldis on November 8, 2024, episode of SmackDown. Following the reveal it was then announced a tournament would be held to crown the inaugural champion.
The tournament would feature 12 women competing in a first round triple threat match, with the winners going one-on-one in the semi finals and the winner of those matches going into the finals being held on Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 15th.
The tournament began on November 15th and saw Bayley defeat Candice LeRae and B-Fab to head to the next round. The following week Chelsea Green beat Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport to progress into the semi-finals.
During Belair’s unsuccessful attempt to progress in the tournament, her tag team partner won’t be competing in it at all.
Jade Cargill Was The Victim Of A Backstage Assault
During the November 22nd edition of SmackDown, Cargill was found unconscious backstage. The two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion was seen sprawled across the smashed windscreen of car.
Officials rushed to her aid and called for an ambulance to take her to hospital. Belair joined her tag team partner in the vehicle visibly upset by the situation.
Cargill was scheduled to participate in the competition but has since been removed as she is not medically cleared for action.
The former AEW TBS Champion is also set to compete in the Women’s WarGames match alongside Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Iyo Sky but these recent events has cast doubt over her inclusion in the match.
