Fans will have to wait a little longer to see Jade Cargill in a WWE ring.
Jade Cargill might have only recently returned to AEW television, but her future seemingly lies with WWE. It’s believed that the star’s AEW deal has now expired, leaving her free to join WWE.
The sports entertainment giant has long held an interest in WWE while things began to get more serious in July. According to a new report from Fightful Select, there’s no ill will between Cargill and AEW, with those close to the star saying she was treated well while leaving. This included getting a standing ovation as she returned backstage following her final match with Kris Statlander.
The report adds that higher-ups in AEW were aware of her intention to jump to WWE.
Cargill is currently in Orlando, Florida — something reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, but isn’t expected to feature on Raw on NXT in the coming hours and days. Although the former TBS Champion is set to officially sign with the company.
WWE Already Working On Creative For Jade Cargill
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Jade Cargill will be getting a major push when he does sign with WWE. He added that while she won’t be earning the same as stars such as Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, she will be paid significantly more than the average new signing.
When Cargill finally puts pen to paper with WWE, she will become only the second AEW star after Cody Rhodes to make the jump.
