Jade Cargill Hits Impressive New Milestone

Jade Cargill makes her entrance

WWE isn’t the only company touting its wrestlers’ big accomplishments. In AEW, Jade Cargill has done something that no other wrestler male or female has managed to do: hold a championship for over a full year.

Cargill won theTBS Championship on January 5, 2022 after the company held a tournament to crown the first-ever champion. Since then, Cargill has retained the title in over twenty defenses against a wide variety of challengers.

And despite facing so many different people, Cargill has managed to hold the title for an impressive 500 days, making her the longest-reigning champion of any kind in AEW history, per a report from Fightful.

Cargill beat Ruby Soho in the tournament final to win the tile and become its first champion. Since then, her matches have almost all been squash matches that’ve gone under ten minutes in length.

Among those who have tried and failed to beat Jade Cargill andcapture her TBS Championship include: Julia Hart, Marina Shafir, Athena (the former Ember Moon), Willow Nightingale, TNA/IMPACT’s Madison Rayne, and Skye Blue.

Jade Cargill to defend TBS Championship at Double or Nothing

Her next big challenge will take place on Sunday May 28th at AEW Double or Nothing when she defends the TBS Championship against Taya Valkyrie.

Although Valkyrie already lost to Cargill once before back in April of this year, she returned recently with a newfound aggression. And she also made their match a bit more personal when she hit her finisher on Cargill, which also happens to be the same move as Cargill’s Jaded finisher.
