Jade Cargill has revealed that it feels amazing to be compared to WCW and WWE legend Goldberg.
By any measure Jade Cargill has enjoyed an incredible start to her wrestling career. The Florida native made her debut on the March 3rd 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite and is yet to taste defeat. She currently holds an unblemished 26-0 record, with wins over the likes of Thunder Rosa, Ruby Soho and Anna Jay.
Cargill’s run has also seen her become the inaugural TBS Champion, and earn high-praise from AEW President Tony Khan. Speaking just prior to Cargill’s TBT Championship triumph, Khan compared the undefeated star to WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. The WCW legend famously embarked on an undefeated streak through 1997 and 1998.
By the time that Goldberg was finally toppled by Kevin Nash, he had amassed 173 wins and well as United States and World Title victories.
Appearing on the State of Florida Sports Podcast, Cargill addressed the comparisons, describing them as “amazing.”
“It’s amazing. It feels great being that I have no type of wrestling background prior to my first match on March 3. It’s breath-taking. It feels amazing for me to be compared to somebody of such a stature. I’m blessed. Our owner, Tony Khan, he put me in a remarkable position and I’m grateful. I work hard, but I’m very grateful,”
However, not everyone is totally onboard with the comparisons. Former WCW President Eric Bischoff recently said that while Cargill is talented, she isn’t the star Goldberg was.
Cargill was most recently in action on the January 26th episode of Rampage where she successfully defended her TBS Title against Julia Hart.
