Jade Cargill and Naomi‘s WrestleMania clash will break a WWE streak that’s lasted almost two decades!
Following Friday’s edition of SmackDown, Jade Cargill vs Naomi was made official for WrestleMania 41 later this month. At the time of writing, it’s unknown which night of WrestleMania the long-awaited grudge match will take place.
Regardless of who comes out on top, however, both women are set to make history on The Grandest Stage Of Them All. As first noted by WrestleOps, Cargill and Naomi’s clash is the first non-title women’s match to feature on a WrestleMania in almost 20 years.
The last took place all the way back at WrestleMania 22 in 2006 when Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle faced off in a Playboy pillow fight. In addition, Cargill and Naomi will also make history by competing in the first WrestleMania women’s match without any stipulations or titles on the line.
The latest SmackDown also saw LA Knight’s WrestleMania bout confirmed: A United States Championship defence against The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu.
Jade Cargill Recently Achieved An Unfortunate WWE Feat
Cargill is no stranger to making WWE history as of late. Back on the March 21st edition of SmackDown, the former AEW star suffered her first-ever pinfall loss in WWE when Liv Morgan kept her shoulders down for the three count after an ObLIVion.
This wasn’t Cargill’s first WWE singles loss overall, however. That honor went to Nia Jax back in May last year when she managed to defeat the 32-year-old via disqualification to advance to the semi-finals of the Queen of The Ring Tournament.
