According to a new report, Jack Perry hasn’t heard from Tony Khan in months.
AEW All In was a record-breaking success for the company, but backstage drama reared its ugly head when CM Punk and Jack Perry were involved in an altercation. CM Punk was fired after an investigation into the situation, and Perry hasn’t been seen in AEW since.
Instead, Jack Perry shocking made his NJPW debut back in January and tore up his AEW contract on screen.
A recent report indicated that Tony Khan was still upset with Perry due to the events of All In costing the company its relationship with CM Punk, and now Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline sheds more light on the situation.
According to Alvarez, Perry refutes any rumors that he apologized for the backstage incident at All In and that there are plans for him to return to the company. In fact, Perry claims that he didn’t hear from Tony Khan for two months following the incident, and that he refused to initiate first contact.
Eventually, Tony Khan finally set up an in-person meeting between the two at Full Gear in November, and they discussed a potential return for the suspended star in December. However, after CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series later that month, return plans for Perry were scrapped.
While Perry has bad blood with the Straight Edge Superstar, AEW star Swerve Strickland recently said he had nothing but positive interactions with CM Punk.
Is Jack Perry Still Signed To AEW?
In addition, Alvarez reports that Jack Perry is still under contract with All Elite Wrestling as his request to be released was denied. According to the report, Perry hasn’t heard from Tony Khan in months, and has not cleared any of the things he’s been doing in NJPW with AEW management.
Tony Khan recently told a different story, praising Jack Perry for the work he’s done in NJPW.
