AEW star Jack Evans has claimed that he is currently being extorted by two Mexican police officers.

Taking to social media on December 8th, Evans posted a series of tweets explaining his admittedly bizarre situation. The high-flyer acknowledged that the message would sound fake, but assured fans that he was telling the truth.

Evans revealed that over the last four days he had been forced to pay a total of $350 to two police officers from the Del Valle Police Department in Mexico City.

“This will sound like a fake message but it is not. I am currently being extorted by 2 police officers from the Del Valle Police Department in Mexico City. In the last 4 days I have had to pay around 7000 pesos (350$ american) and I am not paying more

So if I get arrested on drug charges in the next little bit I want to put it out there right now that it was planted by the Del Valle Police Department.”

Jack Evans began his career in 2000, appearing in MLW before signing with Ring of Honor in 2003. Evans later appeared in AAA before featuring on Lucha Underground as Aero Star.

During his time with AAA, Evans won the Cruiserweight Championship once, while also winning the World Tag Team Championship on four occasions.

The former Dragon Gate star signed with AEW in May 2019, reforming the Los Güeros del Cielo team alongside Angélico. The pair now known as Hybrid2 immediately entered into a clash with Best Friends. As a singles star, Evans squared off against Kenny Omega that November for the AAA Mega Championship but was unsuccessful.

Jack Evans was most recently in action on the October 24th episode of AEW Dark where he was defeated by Eddie Kingston.
