WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco has shot down those celebrating the retirement of Vince McMahon, effectively stating that wrestling today wouldn’t have been possible without him.
News of Vince McMahon’s retirement drew many emotions on social media. Some found humour in the situation, with Renee Paquette jokingly questioning if Vince would appear on her podcast The Sessions. Others, such as Mick Foley, thanked the ex-WWE Chairman for turning his life around.
Some, however, celebrated the retirement, viewing it as an opportunity to begin a new chapter for the company. This hasn’t sat well with Gerald Brisco, as the former Hardcore Champion has branded them as “jabroni marks” in a hot tweet from the Brisco brother:
“Disappointed to see all you jabronis celebrating the retirement of the man who created a world that gave you so much enjoyment growing up. If Vince never existed, all you marks would have sadder lives than you already do.”

Vince officially announced his retirement via Twitter; a WWE Corporate press release followed, confirming Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan would take up his roles as Chairwoman and co-CEOs, respectively, moving forward.
Debuting in 1967, the now-75-year-old Gerald Brisco joined the WWF in the early 1980s alongside brother Jack, but after just a year of competing in the company, Gerald retired from the ring, instead taking up the roles of road agent and booker.
Brisco’s biggest claim to fame was as a stooge for Vince McMahon alongside Pat Patterson. The pair created some of the best comedy during the Attitude Era, trading the Hardcore Championship with the late Crash Holly. Gerald Brisco was furloughed from his backstage duties in April 2020, officially being cut the following September.
