IYO SKY has already surpassed many past Money In The Banks winners.
The Genius of the Sky lived up to her nickname with high-risk moves including a death-defying leap from a ladder in the ring onto her opponents below.
While Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus fought it out in the ring, Zoey Stark introduced handcuffs to the bout and tried to take Lynch out of proceedings by cuffing her to the ring ropes but couldn’t get the job done.
The handcuffs proved to be pivotal to the end of the bout. As Bayley and Lynch fought on the ladder, SKY saw her opportunity and cuffed the pair together between the rungs. This allowed her to climb over her DAMAGE CTRL Leader to claim the coveted briefcase, securing herself a title shot of her choosing anytime, anywhere.
IYO SKY surpasses past Money In The Bank winners
SKY has already passed a significant milestone as Ms. Money In The Bank just by holding back from cashing in her contract on the night.
Since the first women’s version of the ladder match was held in 2017, every winner has cashed in on either the same night or the following night on Raw.
The only exception to this was the first winner, Carmella, who held the briefcase for 287 days before cashing in on Charlotte Flair to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
SKY will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous winners, as every woman to hold the contract has gone on to win one of the Women’s Titles.
