ONE Championship star and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Vitor Belfort, wants a clash with AEW Superstar, Chris Jericho.
There have been many examples of inter-promotional crossovers when it comes to professional wrestling and other forms of sports entertainment. In 1998 Mike Tyson appeared in various on WWF television culminating in an Special Enforcer role at WrestleMania 14, before he laced up his boots in 2010 to team with Chris Jericho against D-Generation X. ‘Iron’ Mike most recently made an appearance for AEW to tease a singles outing with Le Champion.
Ronda Rousey, Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn have all made the successful transition from UFC to the grappling game with varying degrees of success with Brock Lesnar going the opposite way, beginning in the ring before ending up in the octagon.
Now, Brazilian tough-man Vitor Belfort wants in on the action according to MMA writer, Nick Atkin. Taking to social media, Atkin orated how he was told by the submission specialist that Tony Khan should give him Chris Jericho:
“@vitorbelfort tells me he wants a cross promotional clash with Chris Jericho (@IAmJericho) on AEW after ONE Championship announced a new deal with US primetime network TNT. “It’s time for @TonyKhan to give me Jericho, I can whip Jericho’s butt.””

With TNT now airing both All Elite Wrestling and ONE Championship, a crossover event or even match isn’t out of the question should both companies and both parties be up for doing business.
However, the tweet by Atkin caught the attention of the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Champion who stirred the pot by simply asking:
“Who is @vitorbelfort?”

Currently on AEW television, Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle have been in a state of disarray thanks to the group’s reluctance to accept MJF and Wardlow as members of their sacred group.
