WWE fans had mixed feelings as a 34-year-old star was teased as the “new” El Grande Americano.
El Grande Americano is a luchador whose identity is highly debated. Fans and WWE Superstars alike are curious about who is under the mask. At least some of them are.
Most believe that it is none other than Chad Gable, dressed as a luchador. Well, on tonight’s episode of RAW, those doubters were put to rest. It was confirmed that Gable had suffered an injury, as he left the arena with his arm in a sling.
This led many to joke, including general manager Adam Pearce, that El Grande Americano would be going with him. A few minutes later, in another backstage segment, the conspiracy theory that Gable and Americano are the same person was put to rest, as the latter made an appearance, looking taller and a lot leaner.
Jokes aside, many believe that the superstar donning the mask of El Grande Americano tonight was Ludwig Kaiser. There have been no concrete reports just yet, but several fans have taken to social media to share their reactions, and it looks like a split verdict.

Some fans even tried to make it a running gag, remaining adamant that it wasn’t Ludwig Kaiser, and instead it was the same old Americano. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what route WWE takes with this.
Ludwig Kaiser was there when Chad Gable got injured last week on WWE RAW
WWE teased the idea of Ludwig Kaiser about a week ago, but it wasn’t that obvious. In the previous episode of RAW, when Gable was “injured” by Penta, Kaiser could be seen in the background surveying the situation.
Given what happened tonight, there is a good chance that Kaiser seized the opportunity to sneak into Gable’s locker and steal the El Grande Americano costume. Of course, this, much like the possibility of Gable being Americano, is, at this point, just a conspiracy theory.
