At least one WWE official reportedly flew to California to meet Ronda Rousey regarding a potential return at the Royal Rumble, with the ball now firmly in the former champion’s court.
As the rumour mill goes into overdrive about a potential Royal Rumble appearance for Ronda Rousey, new details regarding the situation and negotiations have begun to emerge.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, “at least one” WWE official flew to California last week to meet with the former UFC star. In addition, Abraham Esparza who worked as Rousey’s stylist and makeup artist during her last WWE run is scheduled to be at the Royal Rumble and the following episode of Monday Night Raw. This has apparently been locked in for a number of weeks.
Furthermore, the report adds that WWE sources have said that the decision over a return now rests solely with the former Raw Women’s Champion, commenting “it’s all on Rousey.” Although, the company are ready, and want her back for a WrestleMania program.
On January 24th it was reported that Rousey is in training for a return and could even be back in the ring at the Royal Rumble. This was followed by another report which claimed that a huge clash between the former UFC star and Becky Lynch is under “heavy consideration” for WrestleMania 38.
Rousey’s long-standing rival Becky Lynch has also wasted little time in renewing hostilities with the ‘Baddest Woman on the planet.’
Posting on social media Lynch shared a photo of herself alongside her Raw Women’s Championship. The caption simply reading “I was wondering if you’d show up again. I’ve still got her, and she’s doing great.”
