Despite only having two matches with WWE, and despite only one of those matches being a singles bout, Logan Paul stands at the next challenger to Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
The huge clash is set to take place at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5th, and will see Paul look to shock the world and end Reigns’ seemingly unstoppable run at the head of WWE’s table.
While many expect Roman Reigns to score the win, there have been others who have suggested that booking Paul to defeat the Tribal Chief might not be such a terrible idea. One such person is SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, who claimed that if she was in charge of booking the match, she would have the YouTube star score the upset.
“Roman Reigns Does Not Need The Title Right Now” – Jeff Jarrett
Although the majority of fans scoffed at Rousey’s suggestion, it appears that she’s not alone. Speaking on his podcast, My World, WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett admitted that making Logan Paul World Champion could be a good move, but he doubts that the switch will be made on November 5th.
“The audience, in general, whether it’s my 16-year-old son or daughter or whoever it may be, they’re consuming their content on their phones. YouTube. Twitter… That’s what the Paul brothers [have mastered.] They weren’t on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ or ‘The Voice’ or some kind of athletic [show.] They got over on social media, and now they’re bringing that to a televised product.
“The Paul kid becoming champion, I think it would work, in every kind of way. Do I think they’re going to do it? No. I just don’t think they’ll switch the title in Saudi [Arabia.] But look, online audiences are talking about it.”
Looking ahead to WrestleMania, Jarrett said that he’s not sure where Logan Paul currently fits. When it was suggested that Paul could meet Sami Zayn in a title match, the veteran stated that Zayn is currently the star of The Bloodline, and Reigns doesn’t need the championship.
“The Paul brothers, they just dominate the conversation and I’m curious. I don’t think they’ll switch it [the title at Crown Jewel] but where does Logan fit in the WrestleMania picture? That’s going to be interesting.”
“As far as belts and storylines, Roman does not need the title right now. I mean, Sami Zayn is the star of that attraction right now. You pull him out of that? It’s a completely different dynamic.”
It has long been rumoured that Roman Reigns will be facing his cousin The Rock at WrestleMania 39, although there has been no official confirmation. During a recent interview, long-time friend of Dwayne Johnson commented on the speculation.
