Dr. Britt Baker DMD has spoken out about her failed run as the company’s top female babyface and jokingly blamed Jim Ross for the period being a flop.

The very first female athlete to be signed by the Jacksonville promotion upon its creation, Baker was heralded as the next big thing thanks to her work on the indies and her relationship with NXT sensation, Adam Cole.

However, sometimes things don’t go to plan and it was clear when Baker stepped in front of a mainstream audience that her character wasn’t going to work without some major tweaks. The babyface role she portrayed had been done a million times over in the past and the AEW faithful yearned for something more.

In 2020, the star underwent a much needed heel turn which reinvigorated her character and turned her into a sharp tongued villain who in 2021 is on her way to becoming the head of a division that desperately needs a leader.

Now, Baker has joined the cast of Sunday Night’s Main Event to discuss the failure of her initial run as well who she jokingly blames for it being a flop:

“I think because I’m probably not a babyface deep down [laughs]. It was just a lot of demons at once and being a dentist and professional wrestler is super inspiring and I have two Plan A careers, but not everybody has that so not everybody wants to hear that every second of the day. I blame [Jim Ross]. With full-blown respect, he really screwed me because he said on every single friggin’ episode of Dynamite that I was a dentist 100 times to the point that it wasn’t cool anymore. It certainly wasn’t my fault, so it’s got to be JR’s.”

Currently, Britt Baker is locked in a rivalry with former NWA World Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa which began with exchanged words on social media, before transitioning to a full-blown television rivalry.
