After Liv Morgan appeared on Friday Night SmackDown with her arm in a brace, many fans have wondered whether the champion is carrying a legitimate injury.
At SummerSlam, Liv Morgan retained the SmackDown Women’s championship against Ronda Rousey in controversial fashion. Morgan turned an armbar into a pin-fall, but tapped out before the three count was over, unbeknownst to the referee. Rousey would turn on Morgan as a result of the contentious result, applying the armbar again.
A week later on SmackDown, Morgan came out to the ring for an interview segment wearing an brace on her arm, leading to speculation that she might have picked a legitimate injury at SummerSlam.
However a report by Fightful Select, has now thrown some light on the situation. Thankfully Morgan’s injury is purely a plot device, and she won’t be missing any time.
During the aforementioned interview segment, Morgan was booed by sections of the crowd while chanting for Ronda Rousey. Kayla Braxton, the interviewer in the segment, later expressed her annoyance at the fan reaction on social media.
The segment led into a seven-woman gauntlet match where Shayna Baszler became the number one contender to Liv Morgan’s championship. The match between the pair being set for Clash At The Castle/
Ronda Rousey missed SmackDown after being suspended in storyline, for her post-match assault on Morgan and the referee at SummerSlam.
