WWE Crown Jewel is now less than 24 hours away, scheduled to begin at 12pm EST (4pm GMT). The show will be headlined by Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Logan Paul, who was recently confirmed to have his brother Jake by his side for the bout.
Earlier in the week, however, there was speculation that the premium live event wouldn’t even be taking place. Reports of Iran planning an “imminent attack” on Saudi Arabia put the event into doubt, with WWE and the United States said to be on high alert as a result.
Per a new Wall Street Journal article, however, these reports are “baseless”. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani claimed as such, adding that the Iranian government will carry on with “diplomacy”. It’s said that tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia have grown recently, owing to the death of a young woman.
What’s Happening At WWE Crown Jewel 2022?
With less than one full day to go until the fourth Crown Jewel premium live event, eight matches are currently scheduled for the card. Roman Reigns vs. Logan Paul will headline, contested for the former’s Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Other championships bouts will see Reigns’ Bloodline brethren The Usos defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships against Butch and Ridge Holland, Bayley challenging Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship in an anticipated Last Woman Standing match, and Dakota Kai and IYO SKY getting their Women’s Tag Team Championships rematch vs. Asuka and Alexa Bliss.
