It was announced on last night’s edition on NXT, that Io Shirai will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Candice LeRae at NXT Halloween Havoc in two weeks time.
The rematch from NXT TakeOver 31 was set when ‘The Poison Pixie’ defeated Shotzi Blackheart to become the new number one contender to the Japanese marvel’s crown on October 28.
Following a hard fought battle, Blackheart was robbed of the chance at becoming NXT Women’s Champion after Indi Hartwell aided LeRae with a pair of brass knuckles which Mrs. Gargano used to attain her victory.
A celebration took place in the Gargano household following last night’s edition of NXT after Johnny Gargano was also announced to challenge Damian Priest for the NXT North American Championship at the Halloween Spooktacular.
However, all will not be as it seems with either match as the stipulations for both will be finalised via the Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal prize wheel which was first seen all the back at WCW Halloween Havoc 1992.
At NXT TakeOver 31, Io Shirai successfully defended her championship against LeRae in a thriller shortly before Toni Storm and Ember Moon announced their return to the black and gold brand.
Whoever leaves the terrifying season with NXT women’s gold had better watch out, Ember Moon, Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley won’t be far behind.
NXT announced the return of Halloween Havoc during their broadcast of NXT TakeOver 31 on October 4.
