Zelina Vega’s return to WWE programming appears to be just around the corner – and she may not be coming back alone!
Zelina Vega is seemingly set to join up with Legado Del Fantasma.
News of Vega’s return was initially broken by PWInsider’s Mike Johnson ahead of Friday Night SmackDown’s season premiere on Fox tonight (7 October), but a follow-up Fightful Select report revealed details of what, exactly, she may be doing. It appears she’ll join Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro, replacing Elektra Lopez.
Until she appears, this is not confirmed and Lopez may still be factored into Legado Del Fantasma’s plans. However, she’s not been seen in Worcester – the site of tonight’s SmackDown – while Escobar, Wilde, Toro, and Vega all have.
Zelina Vega hasn’t appeared for WWE since Raw’s 11 April broadcast having undergone surgery, where she lost in just two minutes to Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a non-title contest. This came just a week after she turned on Carmella, splitting up the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships-winning partnership.
Returning to WWE in July 2021 after being released the prior November, Zelina is a former one-time holder of the aforementioned championships, as well as winning WWE’s inaugural Queen of the Ring tournament at Crown Jewel 2021. Outside of WWE, she’s held the IMPACT Knockouts World Tag Team Championships under the Rosita moniker.
