Interim AEW Women’s World Champion Decided At All Out

AEW All Out Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Hikaru Shida - AEW Interim Women's World Championship

With Thunder Rosa out injured, AEW has a brand new women’s champion!

Following the news that Thunder Rosa would be stepping away from the ring due to injury, it was announced that Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm would meet at All Out to crown an Interim Champion.

Much of the match was characterised by Baker and Hayter working together, which they did successfully to get rid of Shida, at least for while. Despite the double-team Shida returned to the action kendo sticks in hand hitting everything that moved.

The alliance between Baker and Hayter came into serious strife as Hayter looked to have the match won, only for Baker to pull the referee out of the ring. Storm responded by hitting a Piledriver on Hayter and Baker tried to sneak in and get the pin.

Storm fought back and hit a huge DDT on Hayter to grab the win and become Interim AEW Women’s World Champion.

On the August 24th edition of Dynamite AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa announced that she was suffering with an injury and needed to stay away from the ring. As a result, it was confirmed that she would be unable to defend her AEW Women’s World Title against Toni Storm at All Out as planned.

Interestingly, Storm had been scheduled to defeat Thunder Rosa had the match taken place as planned.

Although she is suffering with a back injury, Rosa isn’t expected to be out for long. The champion’s injury comes as she is surrounded by backstage controversy, including reports that she has heat with more than one member of the women’s division.
