Could Mike Tyson be on the cusp of another WWE return?
On November 15th, Tyson was once again the talk of the sports and entertainment world as he stepped back into the ring to face Jake Paul in a boxing match. The fight went the full 8 rounds with Paul picking up the victory as more than 60 million households around the world tuned into Netflix to witness the exhibition fight.
While the fight itself was criticised for being lacklustre and the age difference was called out by many, interest in Tyson has been renewed once more. With Tyson being a massive wrestling fan and inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012, could The Baddest Man on the Planet make another appearance on The Grandest Stage?
During a Q and A on WrestleVotes Radio, Tyson came up in conversation, specifically if there were any talks of having Logan Paul interact with Tyson at WrestleMania:
“I did some digging after what we saw Friday night. I was able to get a source confirm to me there’s interest. I don’t know anything other than that…There’s interest I would say all the way around, just because it makes so much sense.”
Mike Tyson And WWE
Tyson was first brought into WWE in early 1998. In one of the most famous moments in Monday Night Raw history, the boxing legend and Steve Austin had to be separated by security following crossed words between The Texas Rattlesnake and The Baddest Man on the Planet.
Named as the special enforcer for the main event of WrestleMania 14, Tyson was revealed to be a member of DX ahead of the bout to give champion Shawn Michaels an advantage over his match with Austin. However, after Austin hit the Stunner, Tyson counted the winning pin to begin the Austin Era in WWE. To make matters worse for Michaels, The Heartbreak Kid nearly had his face broken after the bell as he was knocked out by “Iron” Mike.
Returning to guest host Raw in 2010, Tyson made things right with Michaels as he re-joined DX, this time knocking out Chris Jericho following the double cross.
