Injury Update On Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn, one-half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, recently provided an injury update revealing that he has been dealing with nagging issues.

Sami Zayn’s injury status came into question after a backstage attack by JD McDonagh, which forced him out of a match on the August 7th episode of WWE Raw. Fans noticed an unusual appearance of Zayn’s elbow, leading to speculation about his condition.

However, on the August 14th episode, Michael Cole confirmed that Zayn was suffering from traumatic olecranon bursitis. Despite these challenges, Zayn managed to defeat JD McDonagh in a singles match.

During an interview on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Zayn shed light on his injury situation. He admitted to battling through nagging injuries for some time but assured fans that nothing had sidelined him. Zayn specifically mentioned his elbow, stating that it wasn’t great but would be fine.

So [my elbow] is part of a nagging injury that’s just kind of gotten a little bit worse after this past week’s heinous attacks by JD McDonagh, for which there will be revenge. But yeah, there have been some little injuries, but knock on wood, thank god, I’m pretty healthy overall.

He compared his situation to that of athletes in other sports who play through severe injuries during playoffs but appear fine to viewers. Zayn acknowledged the importance of maintaining his health as he gets older and has been in the industry for 21 years, realizing that he is closer to the end of his career than the beginning.

You start to think about this stuff a little bit more as you get older, and you’ve been doing it for 21 years, and you’re like, ‘Oh, there’s definitely not another 21 on the backside of this.’ So you’re definitely closer to the end than the beginning.

How Long Has Sami Zayn Been With The WWE?

Sami Zayn signed with WWE back in 2013 after spending over a decade on the independent scene. He initially started his WWE journey on the NXT brand, where he captured the NXT Championship.

Zayn was called up to the main roster in 2015, where he has enjoyed success capturing the Intercontinental Championship three times and is currently one-half of the Undisputed Tag Team Champions along with tag partner Kevin Owens.
