Following AEW Battle Of The Belts II airing on Saturday night, a new report says Jonathan Gresham suffered an injury scare following his bout with Dalton Castle.
The second-ever Battle Of The Belts event saw three titles on the line to cap off what AEW advertised as Championship Week in the company.
Thunder Rosa put her AEW Women’s World Championship on the line against Nyla Rose. La Mera Mera managed to overcome the size difference at play and put away The Native Beast to retain her crown.
Scorpio Sky was not so lucky as he put his TNT Championship on the line against The Spanish God Sammy Guevara. Guevara ended Sky’s impressive undefeated streak that stretched back over a year to become only the second-ever three-time TNT Champion.
Ring Of Honor gold was also on the line at the event as Jonathan Gresham put his ROH World Title on the line against Dalton Castle. Ultimately Gresham retained his title but according to a report from Fightful Select, it was not without cost.
According to the report, Jonathan Gresham had to be checked for a concussion following his match. The incident that caused the concern was said to be the gutwrench sequence early on in the bout. Gresham was not immediately cleared and his status remains unknown at this time.
The report also adds that Ethan Page was also legitimately busted open at the event and required six stitches to close his wound.
