After missing several weeks of action, a former WWE Women’s Champion may be on her way to coming back soon.
Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella suffered a concussion several weeks ago during a WWE live event. This led to her being taken off television.
A new report from PWInsider suggests Carmella may be ready to make her return. The report notes she is expected to be back on the road shortly and that a full return to television is “within sight.”
“Carmella, who has been out for several weeks after striking her head during a live event, likely suffering a concussion at the time, is expected back on the road for WWE next month, PWInsider.com has learned.
So, for those who have asked about her potential return, it’s within sight.”
Carmella challenged current Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair for her title at Money in the Bank. After failing to capture the title, she attempted to defeat the EST again on Raw before SummerSlam.
On August 6th, she competed in a Triple Threat Match with Bianca and Asuka at a live event. She accidentally was knocked out during the match and had to be escorted backstage. The injury was one of many throughout the summer for both WWE and AEW.
The star’s most recent match on Raw came on July 18th when she was defeated by Bianca Belair. More recently she teamed with Tamina on the July 28th edition of Main Event where the pair were defeated by Asuka and Dana Brooke.
