Injured WWE Star To Undergo Stem Cell Therapy

Charlote Flair Shotzi Rhea Ripley on WWE SmackDown

One WWE star is undergoing stem cell therapy while rehabbing from injury.

On February 13th, Shotzi challenged NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria to a title match that is set for broadcast on February 20th. The show was filmed immediately after the live broadcast went off air as staff and talent were travelling to Australia for the upcoming Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.

Unfortunatley, the match came to an abrupt halt when the Ballsy Badass hit her knee on the apron while being sent to the outside. The main roster star was unable to continue and WWE were forced to change plans as a result of the unforeseen injury. This would also affect the following taping of SmackDown, which saw Alba Fyre be named as the replacement in the Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

Shotzi later confirmed that she’d torn her ACL and expected to be out of action for at least nine months as she required surgery.

Taking to Instagram, the star revealed that she’s currently in Mexico to undergo stem cell treatment for a previous back injury while she’s on hiatus from in-ring action. She wrote:

In Mexico to finally get the stem cells I have been wanting since I hurt my back 2 and 1/2 years ago! Realizing that my knee injury is giving me the opportunity to finally heal my back has been a huge silver lining. Thank you @rejuvstem Thank you Universe. I am forever grateful. Here is to wrestling pain free when I come back! But first coconuts and cenotes! #rejuvstemcell #stemcelltherapy #cancunhealth #regenerativemedicine
