WWE Superstar Dakota Kai has clarified her recovery process following fans jumping to conclusions.
In May 2023, Kai suffered a torn ACL while teaming with Bayley against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. In recent programming, Kai has been seen ringside for Damage CTRL matches and has also been a part of backstage segments. With multiple people claiming that Kai should be allowed to compete again, the former Women’s Tag Team Champion has set the record straight.
Speaking on her Twitch stream, Kai stated that she is still not cleared and that there is a procedure to follow before being allowed to compete again:
“I’m so sick of seeing people saying, ‘She can run and jump, but she’s not cleared still? No, that’s not how this works. Obviously, I can run and jump because I’ve been doing it for the last few months, but they have a set date for when you actually get cleared because I have to still do matches, and they have to check all the boxes of when I’m actually cleared. I’m not going to be in a wheelchair for nine months and then suddenly stand up and go, ‘I’m cured.’ That’s not how it works.”
Multiple main roster and NXT Superstars have been sidelined with ACL injuries in the past year. Some have claimed that the injuries have been due to WWE’s training process at the Performance Center. In response to this claim, one WWE Hall of Famer has given their thoughts on the matter.
Dakota Kai Hopes To Be Cleared For WWE Action Again Very Soon
With Damage CTRL expanding to 5 members, many are hoping that the faction can be back at full strength again in the near future. When asked about a potential return date back in September, Dakota Kai stated that she was ahead of schedule.
