An injured WWE star is expected to make their return shortly.
Another victim of the “curse” of the Women’s Tag Team Championships, former champion Sonya Deville announced in August 2023 that she had torn her ACL and would be out for an extended period of time. Reigning as champion alongside Chelsea Green at the time, Piper Niven took Deville’s place so that Green did not have to relinquish her championship.
As reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Deville has been training for her WWE return and is expected to be back imminently:
Deville is expected to be back soon and has been training for her return after knee surgery.
In addition to the report, many believe that Deville’s recent social media post is also an indication that she will be back soon. It should be noted that Deville has not been listed as eligible for the upcoming WWE Draft even though other injured stars such as Bruan Strowman and Dominik Mysterio are available for selection.
While out injured, Sonya Deville married her partner Toni Cassano in a star-studded ceremony.
More WWE Stars Side-Lined With Injuries
Although Deville is nearing her return, multiple stars from the company have recently suffered injuries and are out for the foreseeable future. Top star of the Women’s Division Rhea Ripley recently announced on Raw that she was injured and was left with no choice but to vacate her Women’s World Championship. In addition to this, new Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch recently confirmed that Seth Rollins had undergone knee surgery and is also expected to be out until further notice.
