An injured AEW star is reportedly in Chicago ahead of All Out on September 5th.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Kip Sabian is in the windy city for AEW’s next pay-per-view. Despite the update, the report adds that Fightful haven’t been told of any plans for the star’s imminent return.
On the April 28th episode of AEW Dynamite Sabian was attacked backstage by Miro. After appearing in Penelope Ford’s corner for her match against Kris Statlander, Sabian bumped into Miro backstage. Miro, still seething from the pair’s loss in the Arcade Anarchy match weeks previously, proceeded to put an almighty beatdown on Sabian.
Posting on social media in the days after the confrontation Sabian revealed that he was to undergo surgery. The British-born star commented “Eyes finally opened.”
Kip Sabian hasn’t wrestled since the chaotic Arcade Anarchy match on the March 31st episode of Dynamite. The 28-year-old also missed two months over the new year period, before returning to the ring in late February.
After ending his partnership with Sabian, Miro went on to defeat Darby Allin for the TNT Championship on May 12th. Since capturing the title, The Redeemer has made quick work of challenges from the likes of Lance Archer, Lee Johnson and most recently Fuego Del Sol.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that Eddie Kingston will meet Miro for the TNT Championship at All Out.
The clash at All Out was announced after Miro and his new challenger, had to be pulled apart on the August 27th edition of AEW Rampage. Miro was in the process of attacking Fuego Del Sol when Kingston ran down to make the save. As chaos ensued, the two men had to be dragged apart with neither willing to take a backward step.
The pair again come to blows on the most recent episode of Rampage with Kingston not wanting to wait until September 5th to get his hands on the champion.
