Indi Hartwell responded to her estranged husband Dexter Lumis making a shock appearance on Monday Night Raw.
Throughout 2021, the romance between Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis was a highlight of NXT television. Their wedding capped off the first official episode of NXT 2.0, and it was hoped that their love would go the distance. However, Lumis was one of ten NXT talents released from WWE on April 29th alongside Persia Pirotta and Dakota Kai.
While Dexter and Persia weren’t referenced directly on NXT TV after their exits, the Spring Breakin’ episode of NXT 2.0 did feature a segment where Indi Hartwell stared forlornly at her left hand, which no longer contained a wedding ring. Duke Hudson (who’d been romantically linked to Pirotta) approached her, also looking upset. However, just when it seemed like the two could find solace in losing their partners, Hudson leaned in to kiss Indi Hartwell, who swiftly rejected his advance.
Fast forward to the August 8th episode of Monday Night Raw, where Dexter Lumis made a shocking appearance as AJ Styles was celebrating his victory over The Miz. Segments throughout the evening had shown what appeared to be a car accident in the background along with police officers running to investigate, and as Raw went off the air, Dexter Lumis was removed from the front row of the crowd by the police.
Despite being estranged according to NXT storyline, the former Mrs. Lumis took to social media and tweeted a simple thumbs up emoji at the exact time Dexter was being escorted out of Raw, clearly in reference to his silent form of communication.

This isn’t the first communication the two have had since Lumis was released from WWE as they posed together for a photo that was posted on the released star’s social media back in June.
Monday Night Raw also featured a tease for another member of The Way to return to the company when a reference to Johnny Gargano was made during Ciampa’s United States Championship match with Bobby Lashley. Full results from the August 8th episode of Raw can be found here.
