IMPACT Wrestling have announced their holiday and early 2021 programme schedule.
The company will round out the year with two ‘Best of 2020’ recap episodes on the 22nd and 29th of December, alongside their end of year awards show. Here fans will be able to vote for their favourite wrestlers and matches from throughout the year.
Regular in-ring programming will resume on January 5th as focus shifts towards Genesis and Hard To Kill.
IMPACT Genesis is set to take place on January 9th, on IMPACT Plus. Already announced for the show is an I Quit Match between Moose and Willie Mack. The match comes after Moose left Willie Mack laying unconscious during their last encounter, forcing the referee to stop the match.
All eyes will then turn to January 16th and IMPACT Hard To Kill where AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will make his in-ring debut for the company. He will reunite with The Good Brothers, ‘Machine Gun’ Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows to take on IMPACT World Champion Rich Swan and the Motor City Machine Guns, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley.
The wrestling world was left reeling earlier this month as Omega won the AEW World Championship at Dynamite Winter Is Coming, aligning with Don Callis, and setting up a relationship between AEW and IMPACT along the way. The latest episode of IMPACT ended with Omega standing tall over a stricken Rich Swan, before Callis announced the blockbuster match up for a month’s time.
The show will also feature the return of the newly revived Knockouts Tag Team Championships. It was announced during Bound For Glory that the championships would return, with a tournament culminating at Hard To Kill being set up to crown new champions. Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz will battle either Havok and Nevaeh or Jazz and Jordynne Grace for the championships which have been inactive since 2013.
