Drew McIntyre has looked back on the WWE Raw segment that hit the headlines.
In one of many highly-praised segments on the March 25th episode of Raw, McIntyre interrupted CM Punk and let his feelings be known about the former World Champion in front of his Chicago crowd before Seth Rollins also joined them to offer his own perspective on both men.
Among many shots fired by all 3 stars and the unplanned use of bad language, many were shocked when Punk asked McIntyre who referred to him as the chosen one, a reference to disgraced former Chairman Vince McMahon.
A follow-up report from Fightful Select noted that the segment involving Drew McIntyre, CM Punk and Seth Rollins was not scripted. Instead, there was a “general outline” and the feeling of letting all 3 go out there and “see what happens.”
Appearing on Torg and Elliot to discuss the segment, McIntyre discussed how segments are planned compared to the old regime and stated that there is a collaboration up until the show goes on air before referencing his recent appearance:
“This week, a lot of stuff, if you watch that interview with myself, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins, I’m sure you could feel the tension,”
When asked about the aforementioned “chosen one” shot from Punk, McIntyre stated that there wasn’t a script and it is counter-productive to have an entire segment written down:
“Basically, the whole thing, if it felt uncomfortable, it’s because there was an outline and it’s three guys going out there who may not like each other and may have personal feelings, but also are good at their job and we go out there and tear into each other verbally without it on a piece of paper because it’s stupid writing everything down to deliver it to a live audience.”
Backstage reports also stated that there were issues from McIntyre, Rollins or Punk when all was said and done.
Drew McIntyre Takes Shots At CM Punk Beforehand
Many have been entertained by The Scottish Warrior’s antics on social media, especially when Punk has been the punchline of his repeated verbal jabs. Prior to his live appearance in front of the Chicago crowd, Drew McIntyre was able to find the time to troll CM Punk one more time.
H/t to Fightful.
