A WWE Hall of Famer had an honest confession about Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff’s ‘Real American Freestyle.’
Earlier this year, Hogan and Bischoff announced their new project, Real American Freestyle Wrestling, via social media. The new amateur wrestling promotion is expected to be different from usual pro-wrestling and get on par with or even surpass World Wrestling Entertainment and UFC.
Despite their recent struggles to sell tickets, Hogan and Bischoff’s new company recently struck a huge TV deal. They also secured the employment of former WWE and TNA name David Sahadi. Now, another new ‘RAF’ employee, and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has dropped a major confession about the company recently.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, the Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle claimed that if a company like ‘RAF’ existed during his early career in 1998, he might have avoided making the crossover to pro wrestling and joining WWE:
Oh gosh, I would’ve loved to have this. This has been my thing. I don’t even know if I would’ve crossed over into pro wrestling, I probably would’ve stuck with amateur wrestling. We didn’t have a pro league back then, I’m a little jealous, but I’m also excited to be a part of it.”
He further said:
RAF, Real American Freestyle, has set the bar. Now, I’m not going to lie to you, there have been other people that have tried professional wrestling leagues before with Olympic style freestyle wrestling, it didn’t work out but with Real American Freestyle, they signed the top wrestlers in the world and they had the backing, the funding to do this. So, this is going to be incredible.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle Has No Issues Discussing His Past Demons
Earlier this year, while speaking with TribLive, Kurt Angle revealed why he does not have any issues discussing his past addiction problems:
It is important I use that platform to be able to talk about my life story and hopefully help people out by talking about mistakes I’ve made about my addiction, how I overcame that, and what I had to do to make that happen. I am a pretty open book about my life. I want to share that with people to hopefully give them motivation to go ahead and get their lives in order if it has turned into a mess. I tell them my story and how I have been clean and sober for more than 14 years. I get a lot of great responses. I am just happy to be able to motivate people to better their lives.”
