Ahead of his upcoming appearance at NWA 74, EC3 has admitted that he’s a hypocrite, while branding himself a “lair.”
After a failed stint with WWE in the early 2010’s EC3 headed to TNA/IMPACT Wrestling where he built himself into one of the promotions top stars.
From there he eventually moved back to WWE in 2018, initially appearing in NXT. However, he again didn’t enjoy the success that he might have hoped and was released two years later.
Upon leaving WWE for a second time the star appeared in Ring of Honor, IMPACT Wrestling, and started his own promotion, Control Your Narrative. The controversial company has also been home to fellow former WWE star Adam Scherr in more recent times.
Speaking on the NWA Podcast, EC3 addressed his upcoming debut with the company, commenting that he’s no longer “controlling his narrative.”
“I never said I’m not a hypocrite. When I talk about three-letter brands, I actually became one when I was rallying against them. I’m a liar, I’m full of shit. Who cares. The narrative is not controlled, per se, because what I really believe with comments and social media and dopamine hits and quick responses, oftentimes, it’s a vocal minority, to say the least. Who is boldly watching, without their finger on the button commenting, is silent. People that are silent, don’t want to be silent anymore. What I’m realizing in wrestling and in the industry, there is more of us than them,”
He went on to suggest that he and NWA President Billy Corgan are like-minded people, adding they’re “masterminds of creative ingenuity.”
“Your President [Billy Corgan] and I are very like-minded, we’re both Pisces and we share the same birthday, so we’re both masterminds of creative ingenuity. We also see the landscape of wrestling and how it’s changed and the microcosm of one sect of fans have totally and completely foregone the millions upon millions that watched in years past. Trying to reach out to them and provide them with something of context and substance and character and story,”
EC3 is scheduled to make his debut for NWA on August 27th on night one of NWA 74 when he takes on Mims.
