A WWE legend is expected to have another match in 2025, as per a recent report.
Trish Stratus made her return to the company on the July 5 episode of SmackDown, where it was confirmed that she would be challenging Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship at Evolution. The Hall of Famer put up a valiant fight against the champion, but fell short when Stratton nailed the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the win.
While fans thought this was the swansong of her career, it seems that the former WWE Women’s Champion could be sticking around for one more match. As per a report from Fightful Select’s Patreon, the Triple H-led promotion was eager to have Stratus compete in another bout this year after her stellar performance last night.
The report also added that the company was keen to have Nikki Bella compete in another match as well, after her scheduled feud at Evolution 2 with Liv Morgan had to be cancelled due to Morgan’s untimely injury.
Trish Stratus Shares Her Thoughts On Whether Tiffany Stratton Was Her Last WWE Opponent
On the Evolution 2 post-show press conference, the Hall of Famer was asked if her bout with Stratus was her retirement match.
The former Women’s Champion shared a vague response, implying that her plans were unclear. She also added that she felt blessed to be a part of the current landscape of the company:
I have that thought, is this the last time? It could be. The [WWE] Universe has been wonderful to me and supported me, and I feel so blessed to be able to dip my toes into the waters of the current landscape.”
