Booker T has offered his thoughts on attempting to cater to a female audience.
On the May 20th episode of Friday Night SmackDown LA Knight arrived on the main roster under the name Max Dupri.
Over the next few weeks he promised that his new group Maximum Male Models would soon be joining him.
Fast forward to July 1st and Dupri was joined by Mace and Mansoor, who had also been repackaged.
Speaking on Reality of Wrestling, Booker T expressed his belief that the pair were being used to target WWE’s female audience. He explained that he hopes the stars can make the most of their new opportunity, pointing to his own method of trying to get over with female fans.
“I like it [MMM]. You got to be different. This business is character-driven, it really is. You can’t have a wrestling show and just have people excited about people wrestling. Being able to bring something interesting, like the Maximum Male Models.
Hey man, women love seeing men dressed a certain way. All the baby oil, pectoral muscle-flexing, quadriceps popping – women love that stuff, whether you realize it or not. I wore the shortest tights I could possibly find, I swear you’d think I was a part of MMM. You’ve got to give something for women to look at.
You got to go out and cater to the women, so big props to MMM and hopefully, Mace can make that thing work. In this business, until you find it [the right gimmick], you’re going to be looking for it.”
Prior to joining forces with Dupri, Mace hadn’t wrestled on television since late 2021 while Mansoor had been absent since competing in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April.
