The online war of words between Mark Henry and Ryback continues to rage on, with Ryback alleging Henry was asleep backstage prior to their WrestleMania 29 match.
The pairs’ online spat began following ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ taking offence to a tweet sent out by Ryback. Calling championships “props” in WWE, ‘The Big Guy’ voiced his controversial opinion on Twitter:
“Wrestling’s fake guys and the championships are props to market entertainers as “Champions”. Nobody has actually ever won or lost a prop, as scripted physical entertainment is incapable of that. This tweet explains so much though on your TV deal with them.”
Since his departure from WWE back in 2016, Ryback has been extremely critical of the company. From contract disputes, injuries and storylines, Ryback is no stranger to airing his grievances with WWE online. Ryback himself has been criticised by several performers for his alleged dangerous style of working.
Henry would respond to Ryback, defending the WWE and their use of championships. Henry would also allege that many of Ryback’s former peers would find him difficult and dangerous to work with.
In tweets that have since been deleted, Ryback hit back at ‘The World’s Strongest Man’. Pointing at WrestleMania 29 in particular:
“I’m also going to say this. @themarkhenry was asleep in Gorilla prior to our WM Match. A producer came over to me and said “good luck working that fat piece of s–t” Mark didn’t want to spend a lot of time coming up with a good match and we got what we got. #Facts.”
Continuing his online rant in another since-deleted tweet, Ryback claims he could break Henry apart:
“If I’m a failure & have beaten him based off his claims of what makes someone successful or not in wrestling what does that make him losing to such a failure? I will break him apart like no other along with the s–t company that doesn’t care about him that that put him up to this”
Henry would respond on Busted Open Radio, a station he appears on regularly. Defending his status at WrestleMania, Henry claims it was Ryback who acted unprofessionally on the grandest stage of them all:
“You talk about the work rate. You wanted to get your sh*t in and think that was getting over. You can post as many videos as you want of you giving me finishes. It’s not the real thing. Until you walk up to me and punch me in my face, the world won’t know how violent I can be. So when you feel froggy like that, you let me know where I need to get a plane ticket to. I will show up for that because even at 50 years old, I’m more man than most men will ever want to be in their dreams.”
It seems that the heated troubles between Ryback and Mark Henry are not going away any time soon. Henry has spoken in the past of his fearlessness both in the ring and outside of it. In this instance, Mark warns Ryback that a physical fight between the two will result in a trip to the hospital for ‘The Big Guy’:
“You start talking about cutting promos. I’m not cutting a promo. I’m saying this from my soul. I will tear your flesh off bro and that’s a promise. I’m not threatening you. I’m just saying as a reactionary thing, if you hit me, there will be hospital time. I’ll make sure of it. That’s my response to Mr. Ryback and I will never speak on it again because it’s a waste of my energy. I want to make this show, and this show should be more about peace because it’s Martin Luther King Day.”
