Bayley gets honest about a recent WrestleMania appearance.
Forced to hold shows with no fans for over a year, WrestleMania 37 reminded fans of everything they took for granted before the pandemic hit. Although the show at Raymond James Stadium was at half capacity, the sound of the live crowd was something special that night. Looking back at entrances on the night, the Superstars clearly missed the fans in attendance too.
Despite there being 14 matches over the course of the weekend, Bayley was not featured on the card. With the amazing work that the former Women’s Champion put in throughout the no fans era alongside Sasha Banks, who was in the main event of night one, many felt outraged that The Role Model didn’t get to compete. Instead, the SmackDown star inserted herself as host alongside Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil. Shortly afterwards, The Bella Twins interrupted and laid out Bayley to stand tall with Hogan and O’Neil
Speaking with Uproxxx about her experiences of the 2021 weekend, the former Women’s Champion admitted that although hosting Mania was an accolade she had achieved, it was not what she had in mind that year:
“That Mania stung. I was so heartbroken that I didn’t even want to go ask what was happening. I felt like I had the best year of my career. Then I hosted WrestleMania, which was an honor. Got to be alongside some legends, have some cool moments, a lot of spotlight on me both nights. Now I can say I’ve done it. But that’s not where I thought I should have been,”
Bayley Looks Back On Segments With Familiar Rival
With no live audience in attendance, Superstars had to get creative to keep the weekly show as entertaining as possible. The Damage CTRL leader would frequently yell at the announce team to fill dead air in parts of her matches, much to the delight of fans at home. Discussing his impact on the industry, Bayley gave her honest opinion of Michael Cole.
