Baron Corbin, the WWE Superstar, believes that there is a genuine connection between his character and the audience.
During the NXT Great American Bash Premium Live Event, Corbin faced Olympic Gold medallist Gable Steveson in an intense match that ended in a double count-out.
In an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Corbin expressed his thoughts on this phenomenon, stating that the audience’s frustration with him stems from their desire to see him succeed. He acknowledged the resonance of his character and revealed that he has noticed fans online and on TV sharing this sentiment.
I think the audience, as much frustration that they have with me or whatever, they’re also frustrated because they wanna see me be successful. The fans get frustrated too and they want to say he deserves shots, he deserves a championship.
Corbin emphasised his commitment to the WWE, having been on the main roster for eight years, and expressed his willingness to take on the role assigned to him without complaint. He asserted that it is now his time to shine and showcase his true self.
I’ve been here for eight years on the main roster. I’ve done everything that’s been asked of me. There is a line, I don’t cross it. I’m not a squeaky wheel, I don’t complain. I’ve never complained on social media. I said it’s my time now. Let me do this as me.
Recently, Baron Corbin revealed that he considered a career in the UFC before getting an opportunity to become a star in WWE!
What Is Baron Corbin Doing In WWE Now?
Baron Corbin was one of the Superstars who signed a “free agent” contract during the 2023 draft, which meant he was able to appear on Raw, Smackdown and NXT whenever he chose. Since the draft, Corbin has primarily appeared on NXT.
On the August 1st episode of NXT, Corbin secured a victory against Andre Chase. During the match, Chase University’s Thea Hail attempted to stop the bout by throwing a towel into the ring, mimicking Chase’s action at the Great American Bash.
