AEW’s Queenslayer, Anna Jay, has spoken out about how The Dark Order has changed since the passing of Jon ‘Brodie Lee’ Huber and where she sees the faction going.
Every since the passing on Huber, the question has very much been where his Dark Order will end up without the leadership of their ‘Exalted One.’ In recent weeks, many people have had their say about the bloc and their future, including former WWE referee, Jimmy Korderas, as well as stable members Stu Grayson and Evil Uno.
Now, Anna Jay has joined Talk is Jericho to have her say about if there’s a future for the team without a leader as well as her stance on the chums being considered babyfaces rather than heels:
“I hope we stay together, at least for a little while. I think now we’re even more like a family on-screen and off-screen. So I feel like we kind of have to go in that direction…. [We’re] probably nice guys now….I don’t really know how people are going to boo, you know?”
Jay then moved on to her various names and designations within the group, telling the story behind her labels of ‘Queenslayer’ and ’99’:
“I didn’t even know that he was gonna call me the “Queenslayer” until we were live, and he did it in the ring. And it just kind of caught on.
I didn’t even know about that until his [Brodie Lee] Unrestricted interview came out. He never even told me, and it’s funny because in the interview, he literally said it only matters to me. So he never even told me that’s what it was for. But now to know that, it’s crazy and it’s cool, and I’ll keep that with me forever. 99 [is] Wayne Gretzky, the hockey player. I don’t know much about hockey, but obviously, [Brodie] was a huge fan, and I guess ‘The Great One’ so like I said it’s an honour to have that number.”
The last time Jay competed between the ropes was on the January 12, 2021, AEW Dark when the talent put down the challenge of Alex Garcia. Her last appearance on AEW Dynamite came on the December 30, 2020, Brodie Lee: A Celebration of Life tribute show when she teamed with Tay Conti to defeat Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Penelope Ford.
