“I Have A Score To Settle”: Swerve Strickland Wants Rematch With Top AEW Star

Swerve Strickland wants one more attempt to slay the dragon in AEW.

Currently reigning as the World Champion, Strickland is the top star to beat in All Elite Wrestling and will have the entire roster looking for a title shot. Although Strickland has already defeated former World Champions Samoa Joe and Adam Page along with veterans such as Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam, there is one wrestler he has yet to beat.

Back in October 2023, Strickland faced off against Bryan Danielson in a number one contenders match for the TNT Championship. With The American Dragon victorious on that night, the World Champion looks to cement his legacy and defeat one of the best wrestlers in the world.

Speaking with News4Jax, Strickland stated that he hopes that Danielson is ok after his physical battle with Will Ospreay and added that he wants that rematch:

“Hopefully he’s doing okay, because I saw the match [with Will Ospreay]. Hopefully he’s doing okay. When the time is right for him to come back, I have a score to settle with him because we faced off on Dynamite and I lost in that match. He owes me.”

Following the historic victory at Dynasty, a top star stated that Swerve Strickland should have become the World Champion much sooner.

Prior to Strickland’s appearance on the Jacksonville talk show, WWE star Grayson Waller was a guest and discussed an upcoming SmackDown show in the city. Waller stated that it had been a long time since good wrestling had come to Jacksonville, a dig at AEW. Asked about Grayson Waller’s comments in his own appearance, Swerve Strickland gave his thoughts.

In another interview, Swerve Strickland revealed who he wants to face at Forbidden Door.
