“I Feel Pretty Rough” – Cody Rhodes Reflects On Brock Lesnar Clash

Cody Rhodes Brock Lesnar

Cody Rhodes has described the after-effects of going into battle against Brock Lesnar.

The American Nightmare managed to slay The Beast at SummerSlam, winning the match decisively following 3 consecutive Cross Rhodes. The match in Ford Field ended the rivalry with Rhodes as the victor, picking up the victory in 2 out of 3 matches against Lesnar.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated following the victory, Rhodes has described what it is like to get punched and thrown by the Mayor of Suplex City:

Brock hits like a Mack truck. I feel pretty rough. There was one point where I shot a double leg, and the next thing I knew, I was up in the air. Getting thrown around by Brock is like going for a ride on a roller coaster.

Rhodes continues, praising the once-in-a-lifetime athlete and how Lesnar inspires him to improve even further as a WWE Superstar:

There is no one like him. He’s a rare athlete. Plenty is gifted by God, but I know he had his strength and conditioning coach with him. He’s back home farming, but he was also preparing. This is what he loves. I don’t talk to him, and we don’t know each other like that, but I get a sense that’s the type of passion he has. He makes this a heavyweight company, but he’s also agile. It gives me even more motivation to go to the gym every day.

What Happened After Cody Rhodes Beat Brock Lesnar At SummerSlam?

After the bell rang, Lesnar remained in the ring and took off his gloves. Extending the hand to Rhodes, the two former rivals embraced, with the former World Champion raising the hand of Rhodes in a show of respect.

The SummerSlam match will be the last time that fans will see Lesnar compete for a while, as The Beast is set to take an extended break from WWE. As for Rhodes, the pop he got after the match was big, but The American Nightmare believes he can get the fans to be louder than ever.
