“I Don’t Feel He Should Be In This Kinda Thing” – Paige On Goldberg In A WWE Championship Match

Former WWE Divas Champion, Paige, has orated her belief that Goldberg does not belong in the WWE Championship Match at the Royal Rumble.

When Goldberg stormed back onto the scene on the January 4, 2021, Monday Night Raw: Legends Night to confront Drew McIntyre and challenge him to a match for his coveted gold, many feared that were witnessing history repeating itself.

It had been less than a year since the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion had done exactly the same to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, prior to pinning him with a questionable Jackhammer at WWE Super Showdown in Saudi Arabi to lift the WWE Universal Championship.

While many worried that the result would be the same on January 31, others cited their exhaustion of yet another legend returning to the ring to take a spot that should have been for up and coming talent who had ground their way up the card week in and week out.

Now, Paige has joined the cast of WWE Backstage to discuss her feelings on Bill Goldberg returning to the ring to claim one of the most important spots on the card:

“Honestly, like I’m a fan of Goldberg, right. I just don’t feel like he should be in this kinda thing. I think Drew has been having this massive build-up over the last year. He’s been completely carrying as the babyface of the company. I think he’s been doing so freaking well.

Then you’ve got people who have been there for a long time who want to have that opportunity and unfortunately, they’re not getting it. I just don’t feel like it’s needed and I don’t think he should be the one to, at least, win it.”

Drew McIntyre will defend the WWE Championship against Goldberg at the Royal Rumble on January 31, with the winner advancing to WrestleMania to meet either the winner of the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match or the victor of February’s Elimination Chamber.
