“I Didn’t Remember Anything”: Trish Stratus Was Concussed During Major 2023 WWE Match

Trish Stratus Returning To WWE At Money In The Bank

Trish Stratus admits she was concussed during one of her high profile WWE matches in 2023.

The 2023 rivalry between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus lasted for months, beginning when Stratus turned on Lynch during their Women’s Tag Team Championship match back in April of 2022 and culminating in a highly-praised steel cage match at Payback in September.

Lynch has spoken in the past about how she and Stratus “crushed it” in their Payback match, even calling it one of her favorites in recent memory. Stratus also spoke in an interview about the importance of the inter-generational match, likening it to The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan and saying something on that scale hadn’t been done in the women’s division up to that point.

“That Was A Real Character Moment I Was In” – Trish Stratus

At one point in the match, Stratus got in the face of a fan and told the fan to “shut the f*** up,” a moment that quickly gained attention on social media. Speaking in a new interview with Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely, Stratus revealed that she has no memory of the moment as she was concussed during the steel cage match.

“Afterwards, my team was like, ‘That moment with the fan is going viral.’ ‘What moment?’ ‘Before you went in, when you talked to the fan.’ ‘I have zero recollection of that.’ I was concussed. I don’t think anybody knows that, but I was concussed after that cage match. I didn’t remember anything, anyway. Later on, I watched it back. If you know me, I’m sassy, for sure, but I was like, ‘Oh, did I do that?’ I’m very camera-aware and PC. I was 100% in character. That was a real character moment. I was in.”

Trish Stratus most recently returned to WWE for an appearance at Money in the Bank, held in her hometown of Toronto.
