Dakota Kai has again been injured.
On the 13th January episode of Raw, Lyra Valkyria defeated Kai to become the first-ever women’s Intercontinental Champion. Throughout the match, both women took several high-risk bumps but escaped scratch-free.
Unfortunately, in the following Raw, Kai and Iyo Sky teamed up to face the team of Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler on the January 20th episode. As per a recent report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Kai was allegedly “hurt” during the tag-match, and is absent from tonight’s 27th January episode.
“Kai is not backstage at tonight’s Raw. There is no word yet whether this could potentially keep her from The Royal Rumble this weekend.”
The former tag-team champion possibly suffered a concussion during a rough bump she took on a missile dropkick. Injuries and setbacks frequently hampered Kai throughout her WWE run.
Not officially declared for Royal Rumble, fans wonder if the Kiwi will be able to make it back in time before the PLE. The promotion has not yet released an official statement on the injury, but we shall keep updating the story as we hear more.
We at Inside The Ropes wish Dakota Kai a safe and steady recovery.
Dakota Kai Recently Recovered From An ACL Injury
A couple of years ago, in 2023, Dakota Kai was sidelined with an ACL injury. Tearing her ACL and undergoing rehab, Kai made her return ahead of WrestleMania 40, involving herself in a feud against Bayley.
A regular part of the roster since then, Kai has now again suffered a possible concussion with no confirmed update on her status.
