Here is the reason behind Hulk Hogan’s rise to success.
Earlier last month, on July 24th, the pro-wrestling world lost one of its greatest of all time. At 71 years old, Hulk Hogan passed away from a cardiac arrest. Hogan’s passing attracted attention from several top stars in the industry, who reacted to the tragic news on social media.
However, soon, TMZ gathered some of the most influential people in the entertainment industry and released a documentary to honor Hogan’s legacy tonight on August 12th, 2025. With several stars present in the documentary, ranging from Goldberg, Jacob Fatu, Alexa Bliss, to even Vince McMahon.
Vince McMahon was one of the main brains behind Hogan’s rise to stardom in the 1970s,80s, and 1990s. Reflecting on the Hall of Famer’s legendary career, McMahon revealed to TMZ why he chose to push Hogan as his main star.
One of a kind. I knew what America wanted. Someone with charisma, someone who is larger than life and there is no-one that fit that belt, anymore than Terry Bollea.”
The Hulkster won several World titles and main-evented multiple WrestleManias during his time at the promotion, and can arguably be described as one of the vital reasons behind WWE’s rise to global popularity.
The TMZ documentary also revealed the exact nature of the TMZ newsroom when they found out about Hogan’s death and how everything became chaotic as soon as it happened.
Despite the controversies attached to The Hulkster, TMZ decided to bring out his humane side and pay tribute to his iconic career.
