Hollywood Hulk Hogan

A former friend of Hulk Hogan’s shared his reaction to the news of his passing. He said he regretted not apologizing to the WWE icon.

Hulk Hogan was a beloved figure in the wrestling world, and while he had many friends, he had a tight-knit group with whom he was extremely close. One of them was Bubba ‘The Love’ Sponge (real name Todd Clem), who Hogan considered one of his closest friends till they had a falling out.

Clem was recently in the news for sharing updates on The Hulkster’s deteriorating health, which were dismissed as rumors by people close to the two-time Hall of Famer.

As per a report by TMZ, Clem expressed remorse over his former friend’s death and added that he regretted not apologizing to him earlier.

Clem, who is now a radio personality, acknowledged the fact that while the two of them had their issues, most of them were his fault, and that he missed his former friend. Bubba also added that he was heartbroken by the fact that he could not apologize to Hogan for the way that he had handled things, which eventually led to their friendship getting fractured beyond repair:

I’m heartbroken to hear of Terry’s passing. As everyone knows, we had our issues, and those issues were mostly my fault. I loved him as a friend while he was with us, and will continue to love his memory as a friend going forward.

I’m saddened that I will never be able to tell him how sorry I am for the way I handled things that created the rift between us. I miss my friend and hope he rests in peace.”

The relationship between Todd Clem and Hulk Hogan was solid till their eventual fallout in 2012, during which the former WWE Champion was involved in a s** tape scandal with Bubba’s then-wife, Heather Clem. The Hulkster had sued the couple, along with news site Gawker, for damages caused by their leaking of the tape.
