Hulk Hogan has named the best “heel-turn” he has seen in a long time.
Arguably one of the most well-known wrestlers and popular babyfaces of all-time, Hulk Hogan has even enjoyed his fair share of a heel run. The mid-90s saw him turn heel and form the nWo with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. Known as ‘Hollywood Hogan’ during his villainous run, The Hulkster is vividly remembered for his babyface character.
Recently, speaking with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Hogan opened up on John Cena’s recent heel turn. At Elimination Chamber 2025, Cena shocked the world when he joined hands with The Rock and turned heel. Attacking Cody Rhodes, Cena set his eyes on his 17th world title win.
“It’s one of the best heel turns I’ve seen in a long, long time,” said Hogan. “All the major players were involved. I can’t say enough about The Rock, too–he was incredible. They did it right, I’ll tell you that.”
A babyface the majority of his career as well, John Cena’s face run lasted almost 20 years, and he now holds a Guinness World record for the longest WWE Face run before turning heel.
Hulk Hogan Discusses John Cena Versus Cody Rhodes At WrestleMania 41
Winning the Elimination Chamber match in Toronto, John Cena earned himself a World title shot at WrestleMania 41 against Cody Rhodes. In the same interview with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Hogan further opened up about the upcoming title match at Mania.
“It’s going to work as long as John wants to stay plugged in,” said Hogan. “I don’t know his schedule or how many days he’ll work, but he definitely has everyone’s attention. Plus, The Rock is involved, too. This could heat up more than anyone is expecting. It could be so hot that it’s crazy, which will lead to a WrestleMania match you’ll never forget.”
